FIRST LEGO League Explore is designed to introduce STEM concepts to kids ages 5 to 9 while exciting them through a brand they know and love − LEGO®.Guided by adult coaches and FIRST® Core Values, students build models using LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 and create Show Me posters to present what they learned. The program focuses on building interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through a real-world challenge – to be solved by research, critical thinking, and imagination.The FLL Core Values are the cornerstones of the FLL program. They are among the fundamental elements that distinguish FLL from other programs of its kind. By embracing the Core Values, participants learn that friendly competition and mutual gain are not separate goals and that helping one another is the foundation of teamwork.*DISCOVERY: We explore new skills and ideas.
*INNOVATION: We use creativity and persistence to solve problems.
*IMPACT: We apply what we learn to improve our world.
*INCLUSION: We respect each other and embrace our differences.

What is required of a team member?
Each team member is required to attend all mandatory team meetings and if possible all extra meetings.
The mandatory team meetings will be 1.5 hours a week, for 12 weeks, culminating in attending the FLL Explore Festival.
Students are expected to work as a team and exhibit Core Values at all times.
Students and families are required to pay a registration fee of $200. If cost if difficult please contact coach@edisonkidsinc.com to arrange a payment plan.
The team meets at the Edison Kids Innovation Center 9300 Normandy Blvd Suite 508, Jacksonville and Tuesdays mornings from 10 am - 11:30 am.

Membership in Edison Kids Inc is required for participation and is included in your registration fee.
