2019/20 FIRST LEGO League Team

Team applications now open!

We are excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2019/20 FLL City Shaper Season.

The team will meet at Coach Lesley's house in Hilliard. This is to reduce the cost of running the team. Team meeting times have not been set, as we will work to make sure we can work with team members schedules. However the meetings will be 3 hours a week mandatory meetings, with optional times available to work on the robot. The season officially kicks off August 1st 2019 and will run through to the Qualifier sometime in January. If the team qualifies they will compete at the Regionals in February. If they are successful there, they may receive invitations to State or World Events in April and May. The Practice, Qualifier and Regionals Tournaments all take place on a Saturday.

FIRST LEGO League is a competitive team sport of the mind. We use our brains and robots instead of our feet and balls.

If you have any questions please contact Coach Lesley at

FLL Junior team registration and information is coming soon!!!!

Confidence is key!

Why STEM works!

These survey results do not surprise me. I have seen it for myself. I am one of the 93% of parents that believe hands-on learning helps children retain knowledge for the future.

LEGO has really taken great steps to make STEM come alive and provide amazing hands-on resources. Edison Kids Inc currently uses LEGO WeDo2 and EV3 Mindstorms and we are hoping to add the new Spike Prime robot soon too.

We will be opening recruitment for FIRST LEGO League Junior and FIRST LEGO League in the coming weeks and we are working with Renaissance JAX and two other homeschool teams, Rockin' Around the League and Krazy Cat Ladies to help home educated students get started in this program.

If you would like to be added to the email list so you don't miss out on any of the fun we will be having then please send an email to with the subject 'FIRST'.

The 2019/20 season will be my 4th as a Coach and I have so many testimonies, not just from my own boys, of how this program has worked and made an impact.

April 17th at 3 pm EST FIRST will be giving us a live sneak peek at the Robot Game Table for next season, if you would like to come and hang out with us and see more please message me. I have the 2018/19 season table set up in my school room so if you would like to do a test run and see what it is all about I would love to show you! I will stream it live on our Facebook page!

So check out all the wonderful stuff on and maybe consider making their kits part of your home education program! You won't regret it!
